About Redhead Health + Safety

safety hat and pylonRedhead Health and Safety was founded in 2014 by Charles & Christina Redhead. We work with businesses who are looking for guidance and leadership to comply with provincial safety regulations.

The challenge of maintaining an in-house safety program is ensuring continuing compliance and adapting to changes in the environment, people and government regulations.  Keeping up with the latest changes to government safety requirements requires a full-time commitment.

Our onsite training provides you with the comfort of knowing that your company and employees will be performing their tasks in compliance with both safety best practices and safety regulations.  Studies have shown that employees and workplaces that are compliant and knowledgeable with safety programs have a lower risk of accident, which offers both financial rewards and great employee morale.

We are based in Milton and service the following areas: Milton, Burlington, Oakville, Hamilton, Stoney Creek, Georgetown, Mississauga, Brampton, Etobicoke, Cambridge, Guelph and Kitchener-Waterloo.

Staff Bio - Charles Redhead

Charles RedheadCharles is the co-owner/operator of Redhead Health and Safety.  He grew up in Kitchener-Waterloo and spent 15 years in the Sudbury area before moving to Milton in 2005.  He attended Conestoga College studying Broadcasting Radio/TV.  Out of college, he landed in Sudbury working for radio stations CHNO/CJMX as a reporter and news reader.  When the radio industry was in a downturn, he decided it was time to switch industries and he took over as Operations Manager at a large furniture retailer in Sudbury.

This was where his interest in Occupational Health and Safety was fostered.  Charles was responsible for the H&S of all the store's employees.  They had one employee suffer a serious injury and after seeing the impact on this person and their family, it compelled him to work even harder to ensure the safety of those around him.  He eventually transferred to the company's distribution centre in Mississauga where he managed several different departments, including Shipping, Returns and the Ontario Customer Care Call Centre.  He was responsible for the health and safety of his direct reports.  In 2009, he suffered a workplace injury, which affects him to this day.   He had people working for him get injured, but this was the first time he had suffered an injury himself.  It gave him first hand experience in how devastating an injury can be both physically and mentally to a worker. This only strengthened his commitment to keeping workers safe at all costs.

When he parted ways with the company, he decided he would do whatever he could to help businesses keep their workers safe, while making sure they were compliant with ever changing government regulations. His strong background in customer service and commitment to keeping workers safe and employers protected led him to found Redhead Health + Safety.

Staff Bio - Christina Redhead

Christina RedheadChristina Redhead is the co-owner of Redhead Health + Safety. She was born and raised in the Sudbury area before moving to Milton. She attended Cambrian College, graduating from the Business Administration program.

Her interest in Safety started at an early age. Her father worked for a large mining company in Northern Ontario with a poor safety record and he didn't hesitate to speak up about the importance of working safely on the job. It was the same at home where her father wore safety glasses and steel toed boots in his home workshop. She has worked in different industries most of which did not consider the importance of safety on the job.

Christina became interested in management systems when she was asked to create a Quality management system for a financial institution, one of the first such systems to be certified in this sector.  She has spent the last 10 years specializing in integrated Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental management systems in the mining exploration and office environments.
